H.I.S. for the best bicycle tours.

What is the "Tour de France Saitama Criterium"?

The "Tour de France Saitama Criterium" is a race named after the "Tour de France" what is the world's most prestigious road cycle race.

Top riders from around the world, including those who excelled in that year's Tour de France, will compete in a heated battle in Saitama, Japan.

For this 11th year of the race, we have prepared hospitality packages to suit all viewing styles, from watching first-time cycle racers to enthusiastic fans.

Set in Saitama New City, be sure to enjoy the exciting races of top riders racing through the skyscrapers and the thrilling moments that can only be experienced here.

Please enjoy this special experience when you visit to Japan.

In 2013, the world's largest and most prestigious bicycle race, the Tour de France, was held for the 100th time. The Tour de France Saitama Criterium was the world's first event to bear the name of the Tour de France. Professional athletes who had performed well in the Tour de France held that summer, including the overall winner, stage victories, and various awards, will all be coming to Japan. After overcoming a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10th anniversary tournament will be held in 2024. And finally, in 2025, the next phase will see the 11th tournament.

The Tour de France was originally founded in 1903 as "the toughest race on earth." In European media, it is introduced as one of the world's three major sporting events, along with the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Of these, the Tour de France is the only one that is held every year. Although the dates of the Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup, and the Tour de France overlap or are just a hair's breadth apart once every four years, they always respect each other and continue to appeal to sports fans around the world by adjusting their schedules.

It's no wonder that cycling enthusiasts all over the world are envious of the fact that such a sport can be witnessed in Saitama City, Japan, far from the host city. The global Tour de France brand, which is broadcast internationally to 190 countries around the world, will remain intact, and not only the athletes but also the organising staff and media will be visiting Japan, and even props such as signs will be brought in from the Tour de France.

For those who have never seen a bicycle race before, I would like to draw your attention to the authentic culture that the Tour de France embodies. The tournament, which has been built up over 120 years, has matured under the influence of various elements, including the traditions, customs, social habits, economics, and religious views of European society and its people, including France. It's somehow stylish. It makes you feel excited and your heart is beating fast. The venue is filled with delicious smells and smiles from everyone, from children to the elderly.

While some of the items are not found in Japan, there are also some surprisingly similar elements to the original Japanese landscape. Who won is one of the things I'm interested in, but it also brings back childhood memories of being amazed by the enthusiasm of the circus troupe that came to my town... I hope that everyone will head along the route to experience the atmosphere and scent of the Tour de France and discover its charm.

The milestone 10th tournament in 2024 was a race to express gratitude to those who have supported us up to that point. We hope that the year 2025 will mark a new start and a step forward for the next decade. However, the concept has remained unchanged since the first tournament. "The Tour de France has come to Saitama!" I will never forget the excitement and thrill I felt at that time.
